Diet till today(the Past)- Part 2

I was still not very happy with my diet. I wanted to make it perfect. I surfed, checked many other blogs and kept on looking for ways to improve in 3 weeks I lost 4kg and my weight came down to 67.7kg from 71.6kg when I had joined. I started talking to a natural bodybuilder in Chennai. he gave me good a few good advices and one bad advice.

The good:-
1. He asked me to add healthy nuts and seasonal fruits in my diet to keep a good vitamin balance in the hot climate.
2. Since he told me that I am around my ideal weight category. I can take carbs around my workout period and use them during the gym for energy and better workouts.
3.he asked me to increase the amount of eggs I am having instead of 1 or 2 he asked me to take 3-4.
4. I came to know(from his posts) that green tea is a good addition in the diet when u r on a fat loss

The bad:-
1. He suggested me an Indian Protein when I had told him that I am low on budget.

Why Imported brands are much better than Indian brands?

In US, they got US FDA and I trust thm.. but I CAN'T trust indian authorities.
In US rules are stricter thn India, if they say per serving it'z 24g protein.. Thn it has to be 24g but in India nobody cares.. One jus have to depend on company image..
Try one thing, send supplement from India to US via FedEX.. First it'll go to US FDA, thn it'll be delivered.
And on other hand, send supplement from US to India via FedEx.. Nobody cares.. It'll delivered at ur doorstep..

*Few Indian Companies actually give out Genuine WPI...they usually pack it with concentrates.
*80% of the protein powders contain mainly Soy-Isolates...as it's the cheapest and worthless!
*Quality is something we give a miss as the first priority is to Save Money...Brands are aware of this!
*Quite famously many top Indian brands mix-active herbs and steroids to get results...We do get results and a bunch of serious side-effects!

But very popular Imported Protein brands like ON gets mixed or fake ones are made in India. So, Beware and buy from only genuine retailers. and check for the Importer's seal and MRP sticker.

I am using a Canadian brand of whey called All Whey from All Max Nutrition cuz in Canada the rules and security is much stricter than in US. Its not very popular in India but has a very good user review in bodybuilding.com. I found the Importer's MRP sticker in it. The 5lbs bucket has a solid seal which when broken cannot be placed back that easily as you have to literally tear the big seal off. Its damn cheap 5lbs tub for Rs.2800 compared to 3600 for ON and has got 25g of protein per scoop compared to 24g for On and even glutamine content is more than ON(which is good for muscle recovery) and Aspartic acid content was less( which is the main content in the dangerous sweetener called Asparatame).

Diet till today(the Past)- Part 1

I was on a fat loss or cutting phase for one month when I had joined. I lost 8kg during that time and and my waist came down from 32 inches to 29 inches and my body fat % from 15.5% to 11.8%. My workout consisted of alternate days of cardio and weight training(one day cardio and weight training the next day) and I worked out 6 days a week and I was on a strict low carb, no fat and high protein diet. I am off it now but I would like to post the diet I followed during that time.

My diet for the first week:-

Early morning- 1 glass warm water with half tsp honey and half tsp
lemon

Breakfast- 1 cup of oats with 2 boiled egg whites

after one hour- 1 orange

lunch- 2 chapathi, boiled vegetables and 1 boiled egg white

evening- 1 cup of sprouts

before workout- 2 boiled egg whites

dinner- 1 apple and 1 boiled egg white

With this diet I felt too tired and didn't give me good muscle recovery. I felt as if I am losing muscle too! :(

When I was in bangalore I had joined fitness one and the dietitian there had recommended me Optimum Nutrition's 100% whey gold standard protein for reaching my daily protein requirement. Whey or milk plasma is the liquid remaining after milk has been curdled and strained. It is a by-product of the manufacture of cheese or casein and has several commercial uses. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whey
In ON's whey they have made it in a powder form and the rocky road flavour tasted like yummy chocolate shake. I googled and found out that its best to have whey post workout and early in the morning.

and my improved diet became:-

my diet is-
Early morning- 1 glass warm water with half tsp honey and half tsp
lemon

morning- I might do crunches or a few pushups and drink 1/2 scoop whey
with water

Breakfast- 1 cup of oats with 2 boiled egg whites

after one hour- 1 orange

lunch- 2 chapathi, boiled vegetables and 1 boiled egg white

evening- 1 cup of sprouts

before workout- 2 boiled egg whites

after workout- 1 scoop whey with water

dinner- 1 apple and 1 boiled egg white
